Ocean Queen Classic Event Information
Date: Sunday 5th May, 2024.
Location: Woonona Beach, NSW - Preferred site.
Northside (Bulli side) and North Bellambi Beach alternate locations.
Time: All competitors to attend and meet 7am for Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country. First heat 7.30am sharp.
Entry fees: $75 for Open & Junior divisions.
All participants to receive an event T-shirt and goodie bag worth over $200.

Prize pool: Up to $10,000 for Junior and Open surfers.
All Invited Athletes (all divisions) must submit their entries and surfer profiles via liveheats.com before the April 14th deadline to secure their place. Payment to be deducted once entry is verified by WBC. Failure to do so will result in an opening for Waitlisted surfers.
Waitlist surfers must complete entry process (including surfer profile), although payment will only be taken once their place is confirmed by WBC. (Note: We have a few surfers competing in OQC subject to their result in WSL Pro Junior Event at Narrabeen the day prior so be prepared to surf)

Event schedule and draw will be available on liveheats.com. Draw will not be available until 6:30pm the night prior May 4th, due to the participation of some surfers in WSL Pro Junior event at Narrabeen. Waitlisted surfers to be confirmed by 6pm May 4th at the latest.
Proposed Schedule (Subject to Minor Changes) Fernwood Sunrise Beach Yoga Session 7am Welcome to Country & Indigenous Smoke Ceremony 7.30am- 9:30am Open Women Round 1, Heats 1-6. 9.30am- 10.50am Junior Women Round 1, Heats 1-4. 10.50am- 12.10pm- Open Women's Round 2, Heats 1-4. 12:10pm- 12:50pm Junor Semi Finals 1&2 12:50pm- 1:30pm Open Women's Semi Finals. 1:30pm- 1:50pm Heritage Heat and/or optional Expression Session 1:50pm Junior Women's Final 2:10pm Open Women's Final 2:30pm- onwards Presentation at Woonona SLSC. |
Event presentation: To be held at Woonona SLSC immediately following the finals. All competitors expected to attend as there will be special awards, prizes and giveaways. For adults wishing to kick on after the event, refreshments supplied by Reub Goldberg Brewing Machine and the Kollco will be flowing from approximately 2pm inside the Woonona Surf Lifesaving Club. Viewing of the event Final from the Surf Club will be outstanding.
Heat Draw will be available 6.30pm the night prior on live heats.
Other: We will have toilet facilities, BBQ, food and beverage trucks and the use of Woonona SLSC for awards presentation. There will be a live DJ playing your favourite tunes and plenty of prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Invite your family and friends along as it promises to be a great day!
